Connecticut senator calls for pause in cruising because of Covid-19

With several cruise ships suffering from Covid -19 infection recently, Blumenthal (D-Conn.), has called for a halt in cruising.

Blumenthal posted on Tuesday that his warnings had been sadly accurate and are still compelling. It is time for the CDC and cruise lines to protect consumers and pause again — docking their vessels. Recent history is being repeated by cruise ships as a petri dish of Covid infection. “

Blumenthal’s comments come while the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its color status tracker for cruise ships.

On Tuesday some 85 vessels had a yellow status. This means that reported cases of Covid -19 were within the threshold to be investigated by CDC.
