Going forward, only 24% of employees will be permanently based in an office and working at a single desk. 58% will either be pure WFH or hybrid workers. Many people find that today’s digital transformation priorities are very different from those of pre-pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about huge workplace disruption for organizations of all sizes, and across all industries and geographies. The work-style disruptions have wrought great change in not only where people work, but also in how enterprises operate and the way they do their work.

Organizations have accelerated their efforts to meet digital imperatives such as modernizing enterprise communications, improving collaboration, managing and securing a modern, mobile, digitally-enabled workforce, and managing and securing that workforce.

While there is still much debate about where employees will work, our data suggests that many businesses plan to have more work done outside of the traditional office environment in the long-term. It is time to shift the conversation away from where employees work. Businesses should create an infrastructure that allows employees to work wherever they want, with no compromises on security or productivity. Many organizations have entered a period where they are “reinventing to thrive ” Despite having “reacted to survival” in the initial stages, many of these organizations are now focusing on people, processes, and technology. Organizations must plan and invest to maximize the benefits of people, processes and technologies. They also need to reinvent their business models in order to overcome the pandemic challenges. This is not a new mandate. However, it is now a necessity due to the rapid technological, process and people-centric changes that businesses are currently facing.
